This page is a plain-language draft describing how waselmotors.com actually works. It has not been checked by a qualified lawyer, it has not been approved, and it does not yet form an agreement between you and us. It must be reviewed by counsel before launch. 1. Who is responsible for your information

2. The short version

You can browse cars without giving us anything. We ask for information only when you enquire about a car or write to us, and a person here reads it and replies. Nothing you send us is published on the site. We do not sell your information.

3. What we collect

Information you give us

  • If you send an enquiry — from a car, a country page or the contact page: your name, your email address, the country you are buying for, your phone number if you give one, whatever you write in the message, and which car it is about, if it is about one.
  • If you message us on WhatsApp: your WhatsApp number and name, and what you send us there.

Information collected automatically

  • Basic technical information your browser sends — IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you viewed.
  • When you send an enquiry, the IP address it came from is stored with it, so that we can recognise and stop abuse.
  • To limit how many enquiries can be sent from one place, we keep a one-way hash of your address for a short time. It lets us count, not identify you.

Analytics and measurement tools

These are the third-party tools running on the site today. None of them is an advertising or session-recording tool; we do not run any.

  • Google Analytics 4 (property G-TGQKWJZZ67), on the live site only, not on preview builds. It records the pages you view and basic interactions, together with your device and browser type and an approximate location derived from your IP address, and sets a cookie so it can recognise a returning browser. Google processes this under its own privacy policy.
  • Vercel Web Analytics, which counts visits and page views without cookies, using a hashed identifier derived from the request that is discarded within a day.
  • Vercel Speed Insights, which measures how quickly pages load in your browser and sends us the timings, not who you are.

4. Why we use it

  • To answer your enquiry: to confirm the price and specification with the dealer, and to quote you for the car and the shipping to your port.
  • If you decide to buy, to arrange the purchase, the export documents and the shipping.
  • To reply to anything else you write to us about.
  • To keep the site working, to fix problems, and to understand which pages people use.
  • To detect and stop fraud, scams and abuse of the site.

We do not add you to a mailing list. We write to you about the enquiry you sent and, if you asked us to tell you when a matching car is listed (section 5), about cars matching that search until you reply STOP. Nothing else.

5. WhatsApp

Every WhatsApp button on the site opens WhatsApp addressed to our team. Most carry a message already written for you, which you can change before you send it; nothing reaches us until you send it:

  • On a car's page or its card: a message naming the car, our reference, its listed price and the link to it.
  • Where a car has no photographs yet: a message naming the car and asking us for photographs of it.
  • On a search nothing matches yet: a message describing your search and asking us to tell you when a matching car is listed. Sending it means you agree to hear from us on WhatsApp about cars matching that search, and nothing else, until you reply STOP.
  • On the contact page: a plain chat, with no message written for you.

The conversation happens inside WhatsApp, between you and us: we see what you send there, but it does not pass through this website. What WhatsApp itself does with it is covered by WhatsApp's own privacy policy.

6. Who else sees your information

We do not sell your information and we do not share it for other companies' marketing. We do use service providers to run the site, and they handle information on our behalf:

  • Vercel, which hosts this website.
  • Our server host, which runs the system that stores enquiries and listings.
  • Our email provider, which delivers each enquiry to our team's mailbox.
  • Google and Vercel, for the analytics and measurement tools listed in section 3.

If you go ahead and buy a car, we share what each party needs to do its part, and no more: the dealer we buy the car from, the shipping line and freight forwarder, the customs brokers at each end, and the banks that handle the payment. Your name and address appear on the export documents, because that is what export documents are for.

7. How long we keep it

We keep an enquiry while we are dealing with it and for a period afterwards, so that we can pick the conversation up if you come back. Where an enquiry becomes a sale, the records of that sale are kept for as long as the law requires. The hashes used to limit enquiries are cleared automatically once they are no longer needed. 8. Cookies and similar technology

waselmotors.com sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics sets its own cookies to recognise a returning browser; the Vercel tools in section 3 do not use cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work. 9. Keeping information safe

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, and only our staff can read enquiries. No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise.

10. Your choices

  • Ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
  • Ask us to delete your information — subject to anything the law requires us to keep, such as the records of a sale.

11. Children

waselmotors.com is meant for adults buying cars. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
